Male Female House Finch

This is a pair of House Finch birds.

The House Finch comes in several colors. The Red you see here. Then the Yellow. Yellow and Red make Orange. Beautiful singers!

The females do not have the colors the males have, nor do the young. The males take a active role in raising the young by feeding them once the youngsters are out of the nest, this is from my observations. Anyone visiting our town can if they wish watch the colorful House Finches. They must be common around the area here in our part of The High Desert.

A year round, common bird here at our home !
